Olympiacos 0-3 Bayern Munich: Muller bags brace in second half rout

The Bundesliga champions sealed a routine three points over their Greek opponents with three goals following the half-time break through Muller, two, and Gotze

Bayern Munich scored three goals without reply to record an emphatic victory over Olympiacos but were forced to wait until the second period to make their mark

Robert Lewandowski saw his back-post header cleared off the line by Arthur Masuaka as he was left unmarked from a set-piece.

Bayern picked up their tenacity prior to the half-time interval and that continued following the break, as Thomas Muller put the Bundesliga champions ahead after a fluke cross-shot found the Greek outfit’s top corner.

Brown Ideye had the hosts’ best – of limited – opportunities, as the Nigeria international tested Manuel Neuer with a powerful drive from outside the area but was unable to find an equaliser.Mario Gotze sealed the win two minutes to play as he collected a pass inside the area before showing composure to find the bottom corner.

Second half substitute Kingsley Coman was then brought down in the box in injury time and Muller stepped up to score his second of the evening from 12-years.
