?Bayern Munich defender Joshua Kimmich has revealed the three players he idolised growing up, in a new documentary which looks at his early playing years and those that influenced his career.

The 22-year-old joined the Bundesliga giants in 2015 from Stuttgart and has already won five titles with the Bavarian giants, who sit four points clear at the top of the Bundesliga table again this season.

While the Germany international right-back is already destined for greatness, he has revealed in a ?Bild.de documentary the people that have had the most influence on his career as well as the players he idolises.

He said: “Xavi Hernandez and Bastian Schweinsteiger. However, my first jersey I had from the then Dortmunder Tomas Rosicky. But I also found Krassimir Balakov impressive.”

The defender was shadowed for almost two years by journalist Jan Mendelin, who recorded elements of his personal life and events in football capturing the components which have lead to his success, but Kimmich said that he found the whole process exciting.

He added: “I found the idea exciting. At that time I did not realise how big, how long and how multifaceted that would be. I thought in the beginning, videos could be a nice memory later.”
