Club Legend Oliver Kahn Fires Warning at Bayern Munich in Their Search for Next Manager

?Bayern Munich legend Oliver Kahn has had his say on the current situation at his former club, claiming there are fundamental, underlying problems which could cause complications in their search for a permanent manager.

Treble-winning manager Jupp Heynckes came out of retirement to take charge of the German champions giants for the remainder of the season, following the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti last month.

The 72 year-old has since overseen four straight league victories, including Saturday’s Klassiker triumph away to Borussia Dortmund.

Former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel and Hoffenheim manager Julian Nagelsmann are reportedly front-runners for the Bayern manager’s job once the season is over, but eight-time Bundesliga champion Kahn believes 30-year-old Nagelsmann – who led Hoffenheim into the Champions League qualifiers – is currently far too young to take over at such a prestigious club.

As reported by German outlet TZ, the 48 year-old said: “Jupp Heynckes is only a solution for the moment, a very good solution. But he is no solution for the future.

“It will be very difficult for Bayern to find a coach for the future. Because it is difficult to say which coach-philosophy Bayern Munich has. What kind of coach do they want to have?

“You named some coaches like Julian Nagelsmann or Thomas Tuchel. They are very interesting coaches but I think Nagelsmann, after he had a little bit of success with Hoffenheim, is still too young for Bayern. It would be years too early for him.

“Thomas Tuchel is a very good coach as well, but if he would fit into the system of Bayern is difficult to say.”

The legendary keeper went onto say there are problems at Bayern that stem way further into the past, most notably their lack of philosophy and internal management.

“The problem Bayern Munich has is that they didn’t develop their own philosophy. They also didn’t develop a coach from their own academy,” he added.

“And that’s why it is so difficult for Bayern Munich to find the perfect coach for the future.”

Bayern Munich currently occupy top spot in the Bundesliga after a slow start to the season.

Bundesliga Champions Looking to Swoop for Inter Sharp-Shooter Mauro Icardi to Replace Lewandowski

?Inter Milan’s talisman Mauro Icardi is reportedly the subject of interest from Bayern Munich, whose main man Robert Lewandowski could potentially exit the club after casting doubt over his future.

Having been vocal about Bayern’s lack of activity during the summer transfer window, many have seen this as an indication that Poland’s all-time record goalscorer may seek a way out of the club.

The 29 year-old caused a commotion earlier in the season when he told Der Spiegel, via Marca: “Bayern need to do something to bring in more world class players. If you want to be competitive then you need players of this quality.

“Until now Bayern has not spent much more than 40m on a player and that figure is more or less the average in the transfer market.”

According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, the Bavarians are already lining up several replacements, with Argentine marksman Mauro Icardi among a list of potential replacements.

Having netted 26 goals last season for the Nerazzurri, the 24-year-old has continued his impressive goalscoring exploits this season, finding the net eleven times already in Serie A.

With a whole host of clubs tracking Inter’s star man, including Arsenal and Chelsea, the German champions will face stiff competition if they are to make a move for Icardi.

Having been a prolific part of Inter Milan’s resurgence in recent seasons, he would certainly be a fitting replacement for Robert Lewandowski, should he leave the club.

Bayern Munich Sporting Director Will Consider German Legend’s Call to Sign Christian Pulisic

?Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has said that the club will consider Lothar Matthaus’ suggestion to sign Christian Pulisic.

The Borussia Dortmund midfielder impressed during his display against the Bavarians at the weekend, which has only fuel speculation over his future. Matthaus in particular was impressed by the young American and said that the German giants should consider a move, as a long term replacement for ageing forward’s Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery.

Speaking to Sky the German legend said: “if Bayern Munich someday looks for a replacement for Robben and Ribery, then they have to put feelers out for Pulisic. He is 19 years old and has high quality.”

The German, who won seven Bundesliga titles with Bayern over two spells with the club, continued to praise Pulisic and will have perhaps angered Dormtund fans, who have already seen several of their stars switch to Bavaria.

“With his confidence and his speed, he is called to higher things,” Matthaus.

In response, sporting director Salihamidzic did little to quash rumours of a move for Pulisic, and pledged to take the Bayern legend’s views into consideration.

He told Sky: “Lothar always has great ideas, and I respect him. I will incorporate his ideas into our deliberations.”

19-year-old Pulisic, who was shortlisted for the prestigious Golden Boy award in 2017, has two goals in 11 Bundesliga outings this season and has caught international attention for his record-breaking antics.

Bayern face mid-table FC Augsburg next and will be hoping to extend their lead at the top of the table, while Pulisic will be looking to continue his good form against Stuttgart.

Manuel Neuer Slams Rumours Accusing Ex-Bayern Doctor’s Involvement in Recurring Injury

?Manuel Neuer has slammed media reports that Bayern Munich’s former club doctor was responsible for the niggling injuries he has suffered this season.

The goalkeeper took to his personal Facebook page to try and put an end to speculation over the issue that had done the rounds across the web on Tuesday.

In a brief statement, as reported by ?ESPN, Neuer condemned those who stated that Bayern’s former chief of medicine had been “guilty” of contributing to the muscle issues he has picked up throughout the 2017/18 campaign thus far.

He said: “In the media today the impression is that Dr. Volker Braun was responsible for the development of my injury, since he did not apply the ideal treatment methods.

“I am vehemently opposed to this. The former club doctor of FC Bayern is absolutely not guilty. I can even assure him that he has applied the best methods that make modern medicine possible.”

Braun, who had worked with Bayern’s senior, junior and youth teams, was released by the club after nine years of service on Tuesday.

In a statement posted on the club’s website, Dr Braun stated that it was time for him to focus on his practice and spend more time with his family, though many media outlets did not take that as gospel.

Bayern president Uli Hoeness had suggested that Dr Braun was ?behind the recurrence of Neuer’s foot injury, which the 31-year-old originally hurt in the Champions League semi-final clash with Real Madrid in April.

That provided cannon fodder to reports in Germany that Dr Braun was wholeheartedly responsible for Neuer’s continued first-team absence – a fact that the latter has now denied strenuously.

Neuer has only featured four times for the reigning Bundesliga champions this term after he fractured a metatarsal in training – the same problem that caused him significant pain as he soldiered on against Los Blancos seven months ago.

The Germany captain is not expected to return to the fray until mid-January, and his place in the side has been taken by understudy Sven Ulreich.

Bayern Munich ‘Looking’ at Forgotten? PSG Winger to Replace Franck Ribery in Bavaria

German champions Bayern Munich are interested in signing former Schalke 04 midfielder Julian Draxler next summer, as the club begins its search for a long-term replacement to Franck Ribéry, according to Sport.

The 34-year-old Frenchman has recently returned to training after sustaining an injury earlier this season, however, it appears Ribéry’s time in Bavaria is coming to a close.

Despite ditching his homeland to join Paris Saint-Germain in January, Draxler has seen his chances in the French capital be limited this season following the arrival of Neymar and Kylian Mbappé.

It was widely reported during the summer that Draxler could be axed at PSG as the club looked to balance its books following their two big-name arrivals.

As well as interest from clubs around Europe, including some from the Premier League, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, Hasan Salihamidži?, confirmed interest in the German international as he told SportBild that “[Draxler is] a player that fits what we’re looking for.”

The 24-year-old spent an incredible 14 years with Schalke 04, working his way up through their youth ranks before joining VfL Wolfsburg for €43m in 2015.

The German international failed to rediscover his best form at the Volkswagen Arena and he was shifted out halfway through his second season with the Wolves, opting to move to France and join PSG’s project earlier this year.

Despite featuring 39 times for the Parisiens, in which Draxler has been involved in 19 goals, the World Cup-winning midfielder could be forced to look for first-team football elsewhere if he is to reach the potential he showed in the early stages of his career.
