Dante believes that leaving Borussia Monchengladbach for Bayern Munich during the summer transfer window was the right choice, but added that he has not fully adapted to his new team just yet.
The Brazilian defender made his Bundesliga debut for the Bavarians in Saturday’s 3-0 away win over Greuther Furth, and admitted that playing for Bayern is completely different than doing so for Gladbach.
“Was it a good decision to join Bayern? Yes, definitely. I still have to prove my worth here, though, and live up to the people’s expectations,” he told TZ.
“I have to adapt to Bayern’s style of play a bit more. Things are different here than at Gladbach. We enjoy a lot more possession and don’t have to take many risks. At Gladbach, we were often forced to take some risks at the back.”
Dante then went on to praise Holger Badstuber, who started as left-back rather than in his preferred position of centre-back at the weekend following the 28-year-old’s arrival.
“Holger did a great job. He’s a very good player and an intelligent guy. He also has a great left foot.”
