Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri is ready to accept a spot on the bench for now as he feels that the team’s collective interests are more important.
The Switzerland international featured from the start in the 3-0 Bundesliga win over Greuther Furth on Saturday, but is likely to lose his starting berth to Franck Ribery again when the Frenchman returns from injury.
“It does not really matter who features from the start and who has to settle for a spot on the bench. The most important thing is that we act as a team this season,” Shaqiri was quoted as saying by TZ.
“Only then can we be successful. Even when I end up on the bench in the next few weeks, I still don’t really mind, even though every player obviously always wants to play.”
