After just three weeks of action, the 2012-13 Bundesliga season is already looking to be as thrilling as the previous one.
Bayern Munich marched on with another convicining win, Borussia Dortmund finally clicked, playing Bayer Leverkusen off the park, and Eintracht Frankfurt continued their excellent form and kept up their 100 per cent record.
As ever, Goal.com was keeping a watchful eye on all the action in Germany over the weekend, and paid tribute the best talent on show.
Between the sticks, Fabian Giefer was fantastic as Fortuna Dusseldorf claimed a credible point at Stuttgart, making a particularly impressive stop to deny Cacau late on.
In front of the 22-year-old is his club team-mate Stelios Malezas, who played an equally big role in the draw, along with Fallou Diagne, who scored one of Freiburg’s goals in their 5-3 win over Hoffenheim, and Assani Lukimya, whose fine showing could not prevent Werder Bremen from losing the northern derby to Hannover at the AWD Arena.
In midfield Max Kruse also got in on the goalscoring act for Freiburg, while Roman Neustadter was a dominant force in the middle of the park for Schalke against Greuther Furth.
Toni Kroos scored his second goal in as many games for Bayern, while Hiroshi Kiyotake continued his seamless start to life in Germany with two assists and a goal for Nurnberg against Gladbach.
Jakub Blaszczykowski was everywhere for Dortmund as they beat Leverkusen, while Szabolcs Huszti stole the show with an acrobatic winner for Hannover against Werder Bremen, even if the moment was tainted by him picking up a subsequent red card.
Finally, Mario Mandzukic kept up his proud record of having scored in all of his appearances thus far for Bayern Munich.
