Arjen Robben has warned his Bayern Munich team-mates that they can not afford to allow Klaas-Jan Huntelaar any space in Saturday’s Bundesliga encounter with Schalke.
The striker scored an impressive 29 league goals in 2011-12 and has already netted twice in his side’s opening three games this season, and Robben believes that keeping his compatriot at bay will be crucial if the Bavarians are to prosper.
“We mustn’t allow Huntelaar any chances,” Robben was quoted as saying on the official Bayern website.
Bayern currently sit second in the Bundesliga table with nine points from three games, and Robben is hopeful that they can maintain their perfect record versus Schalke.
“It would be great if we could win the next two or three games as well, because we’d be on a really good run.”
Saturday’s match at the Veltins Arena is scheduled to kick off at 15:30CET.
