We had another solid and profitable week and we are on course for the same again. There has been lots of European competition action this week and there has been no shortage of shocks.
Tottenham recorded their first win at Old Trafford since 1989 by defeating Manchester United 3-2 in a pulsating game. Celtic recorded their first away win in the Champions League since 1986 and BATE Borisov of Belarus defeated the might of Bayern Munich 3-1.
Team goals markets
The advantages of backing team goals was evident in regard to the Spartak Moscow v Celtic match. I advised Spartak Moscow to score over 1.5 goals combined with CFR CLUJ to score over 0.5 goals this week and it delivered at 2/1 (3.0).
Both of those sides lost but we still made a healthy profit on the transaction because they scored the goals required. The red card in the match in Moscow changed the dynamics of the game and Spartak backers were left feeling sore as Celtic fully capitalised on the extra man and secured a famous victory.
However, if you took the 1.80 (4/5) available on the Russian side scoring over 1.5 goals, you were counting your winnings shortly after half-time.
Weekend Tips
Looking ahead to the weekend, Bet365 have some very attractive prices. Both teams have scored in all of Manchester City’s games so far this season in the English Premier League. It is not surprising that they have been leaky and their Champions League opponents Borussia Dortmund are having similar problems.
Often these things are down to human nature. Both sides had great domestic success last season and it is natural that some players may not be fully concentrated and focused at the start of this campaiagn.
City host Sunderland this weekend in the early Saturday kick off. These sides drew 3-3 last season and we can get 11/10 (2.10) on both teams scoring.
I expect Bayern Munich to bounce back from their midweek defeat and beat Hoffenheim decisively. They have beaten them 7-1 and 4-0 on the last two occasions they have met in Munich.
The Bavarians will record a big winning scoreline over the next few weeks as they are creating plenty of opportunities in their matches. Get on Bayern Munich over 3.5 home goals at 13/8 (2.63).
