Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has received some encouraging team news with young wing-back David Alaba raring to go again after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to a fractured foot.
The Austria international, 20, sustained the injury during a pre-season game against Napoli, and had to undergo surgery in order to shake off the problem.
Alaba has recently resumed regular training action, and he’s now ready to return to match action in a friendly later this week.
“I have been out of action for over 10 weeks now. I have never before been injured this long. I’m desperate to make my comeback,” Alaba stated to TZ.
“I hope that Thursday’s friendly will be my first game in quite a while again.”
Alaba made 30 Bundesliga appearances last term, but has yet to feature in an official game this season.
