Bayern Munich attacker Arjen Robben has made it clear that he has no intention to hang up his boots any time soon unless injuries force him to say farewell to the game.
The Dutchman revealed earlier this week that he has considered retiring from professional football in the past due to his ongoing injury worries, but the 28-year-old has now stressed that he will only quit if physical problems leave him no other choice.
“Retiring crossed my mind it because I was disappointed and frustrated that it’s taking this long before I can make my comeback,” he told Bild.
“However. I also said that playing football and scoring goals still gives me a lot of pleasure, and that I have no intention to retire voluntarily.
“It’s really frustrating when do you anything possible in order to make sure you can do your job, yet your body doesn’t cooperate.
“Don’t worry, though. I will soon be back on the pitch again. Retiring? Absolutely not!”
Robben has made six appearances in all competitions for Bayern this term.
