Louis Van Gaal has revealed Uli Hoeness was solely responsible for his exit from Bayern Munich.
The Netherlands coach has blasted his former boss because of the way he interfered with the management of the first team and insists that a coach must have 100 per cent control over the selection or it does not work.
“The only one in the club who forced me to leave was Uli Hoeness, nobody else. That’s why collaboration is not possible in the future,” he told Sport Bild.
“It’s not a good thing if one person holds all the power in such a big club like Bayern. For me and my work, Uli Hoeness was no good.
“A coach must judge the players with his staff because he watches them in the dressing room and on the field. The president can’t judge them as he doesn’t know what’s going on in the team, that’s why he shouldn’t have intervened.”
“The president can influence everybody, from the board to the coach. Franz Beckenbauer didn’t do that but Uli Hoeness did it to a massive extent.”
Van Gaal parted company with the club in April 2011, with Bayern ending the season in third place.
