Bundesliga Team of the Week: Ribery stars once again for Bayern

Another thrilling weekend of German football saw all three of the top teams carry on the good form they showed in midweek, with Bayern Munich claiming a 2-0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt, Schalke producing a second-half comeback to beat Werder Bremen, and Borussia Dortmund crusing past Augsburg.

Elsewhere, there were impressive wins for Wolfsburg, Borussia Monchengladbach and Hannover, while Stuttgart saw their unbeaten run halted. And, as ever, Goal.com was there to witness every minute of it and pick out the best performers from around the Bundesliga.

In goal, we have Kevin Trapp, who managed to limit the Bayern machine to just two goals on Saturday with a string of fine saves.

The Germany Under-21 international’s goal is protected by Werder Bremen’s Sokratis, who was on fine form despite the club’s loss at the Veltins Arena. Meanwhile Heiko Westermann helped Hamburg to a rare clean sheet against Freiburg, and Per Nilsson got his name on the scoresheet as Nurnberg lost to Mainz.

In the midfield, we have Patrick Herrmann, who netted one and created another for the resurgent Gladbach, while Roman Neustadter and Franck Ribery got their names on the scoresheet for Schalke and Bayern respectively. The quartet is completed by Diego, who was instrumental as Wolfsburg claimed a much-needed win.

Finally, up front, we have Marco Reus, who netted an extraordinary free kick in Dortmund’s 3-1 triumph, while Julian Draxler came off the bench to inspire Schalke to victory. Finally, we have Mohammed Abdellaoue, who scored twice as Hannover overturned a two-goal deficit against Stuttgart.
