Bastian Schweinsteiger believes that Bayern Munich still have room for improvement and has called for more accuracy in the final third.
The Bavarians sit top of the Bundesliga table, holding a comfortable 11-point lead over second-placed Bayer Leverkusen, but the Germany international has insisted that they cannot afford to sit back and relax.
“We’re trying to do one or two things even better. We have to keep on improving,” Schweinsteiger was quoted as saying on the club’s official website.
“The final pass has to be delivered more accurately, because that’ll give us even more clear-cut chances.
“There are always moments in our play where we could get into position better and quicker.”
The influential midfielder then went on to stress that his understanding with fellow midfielder Javi Martinez is getting better by the day.
“The partnership with Javi Martinez is fundamentally getting better and better, even though there are still some minor communication problems,” he added.
“He got confused between right and left in the last match, but fortunately we were already 2-0 up.”
Bayern are currently preparing for Saturday’s Bundesliga match away against Mainz.
