Rummenigge: Bayern must not show signs of weakness

The Bavarians’ CEO is delighted with the way their season has unfolded but warns that the tests will only get tougher as the season enters its most crucial phase

Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has insisted that Bayern Munich cannot afford to show any signs of weakness for the rest of this season’s Champions League campaign.

The Bavarians face Arsenal in their first leg of their last-16 tie on Tuesday, and the former West Germany star is delighted with how they have done so far.

“We will go our way. It’s wonderful how the coach and the team are working right now,” the Roten CEO told reporters.

“The crucial stage of the Champions League begins now and we can’t allow any signs of weakness from here on in.

“The route to the final is long and very difficult. Luck also plays a big part if you want to get there. It’s best if we continue to take it step by step.”
