Dortmund will make it difficult for Bayern, says Klopp

The 45-year-old has told his side not to give less than any less than 100 per cent against the Bavarians on Wednesday as the two rivals clash in the DFB-Pokal

Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is confident that his side can triumph against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday, should they give their all.

The Bavarians currently hold a 17-point lead over the German champions in the Bundesliga table, but the former Mainz boss is determined to reach the next round of the DFB-Pokal at the league leaders’ expense.

“Bayern haven’t given themselves a reason to worry in the last weeks. They were able to react to anything. They rotated without sacrificing quality,” the 45-year-old told reporters at a press conference.

“I would say that this has been the perfect season thus far for Bayern Munich. However, we have our ambitions in this competition. We are aiming to be an unpleasant opponent and reach the semi-finals.

“And some of our performances in the last weeks have made us believe that we can achieve that.

“We don’t have the quality to beat Bayern by giving 98 per cent. At 100% however, it’s possible, and we have to make sure to deliver on the pitch.”

The coach also confirmed that key duo Jakub Blaszczykowski and Mats Hummels are likely to be fit in time for the Allianz Arena showdown.
