Javi Martinez: I am not angry with Del Bosque

The former Athletic Bilbao star has stressed that he does not have any problems with the Roja coach and is determined to win back his place

Bayern Munich midfielder Javi Martinez has insisted he does not have any hard feelings towards Spain coach Vicente del Bosque after he was left out of the squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Finland and France.

Del Bosque recently said the versatile midfielder was omitted because of his relatively disappointing form at club level, and Martinez is determined to win back his place in the national team.

“I am not angry with Del Bosque at all. He was the one who took me to the World Cup at the age of 20 and I owe a lot to him,” the midfielder told TZ.

“I will not get upset all of a sudden because he said I’m not in my best form. I know that he said those things in order to motivate me to get back to my usual best.

“The national team is still very important to me.”

Spain were held to a 1-1 draw by Finland on Friday without Martinez.
