Betting: Barcelona 7/4 favourites for Champions League after draw against Bayern Munich

After the draw in Nyon, the Catalan giants will face Jupp Heynckes’ side while Borussia Dortmund will face Real Madrid for a place in the final at Wembley

Barcelona will face Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the Champions League and although the Catalan giants are still favourites for the competition, they have seen their price pushed out slightly by the bookmakers. Borussia Dortmund will face Real Madrid in the other tie.

The Liga leaders, who have been impressive domestically but had to come from a goal down in the Nou Camp against Paris Saint-Germain in the last round are now  7/4 with BetVictor for the trophy.

Barcelona also overcame a 2-0 deficit in the quarter finals against AC Milan while their opponents, have had a somewhat easier time in the later stages of the competition this season.

Bayern Munich have been highly impressive in the tournament, with an away-goals victory over Arsenal was followed up with a 4-0 victory over two legs against Juventus.

The German side are now 3/1 (5.0) to win the tournament as they too square off against a side they know very well from their domestic battles this season.

Bayern sealed the Bundesliga title with a record six games still to play last weekend and will be in a buoyant mood ahead of a meeting with the Catalan giants.

The biggest winners from the draw in Nyon are Real Madrid according to the bookmakers.

A 3-0 win over Galatasaray in the first leg of their quarter final meant a 3-2 loss in the second leg changed little for Jose Mourinho’s side and los Blancos are now 15/8 with BetVictor to win the competition.

Although Madrid may have surrendered the league to their arch rivals, victory over two legs in the Copa del Rey earlier this season will give them hope that beating a Barecelona – should they meet them at Wembley – is far from an impossible task.

Jurgen Klopp’s men needed two late goals to see of Malaga in the previous round and they can count themselves lucky to have reached this stage of the competition after their display in the second leg of that tie. They’re the rank outsiders to claim the title in May, priced at 6/1 with BetVictor.

The semi-final ties will be played on 23rd and 24th April and 30th April 1st May 2013 with the final being played at Wembley on Saturday 25th May.
