Leonardo hints at PSG move for Ribery, Nasri & Cabaye

The Brazilian says he would like to bring Ligue 1 alumni back to France but stressed that he has not had contact with anyone ahead of the summer

Paris Saint-Germain director Leonardo has admitted that he likes the idea of signing high-profile Frenchmen such as Franck Ribery, Yohan Cabaye and Samir Nasri.

The Ligue 1 leaders have already lured a number of stars to the club in the past two seasons, but they continue to monitor the situation of several big names as they aim to challenge the European top in the years to come.

“The landscape in football is changing. That’s one of the reasons why guys like [Eden] Hazard and [Olivier] Giroud have left [Ligue 1]. But I like the idea of luring great French players back,” Leonardo told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I am not talking about [Karim] Benzema, but about players such as Nasri, Ribery and Cabaye. I don’t know whether it’s realistic, though, as I have not had contact with any of them.”

The former AC Milan coach then went on to dismiss suggestions that PSG have bid for high-profile names such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Edinson Cavani.

“There has never been an offer for Cristiano Ronaldo and I never heard the names of Cavani and Rooney either,” he added.

“A lot of players would like to come to PSG and I cannot rule out big-money signings, but only if the chance is there.”
