Kroos sets sights on cup final comeback

The versatile midfielder is recovering from injury, but is hopeful of ending the 2012-13 campaign on a high as he hopes to return to the pitch for DFB Pokal showpiece

Bayern Munich midfielder Toni Kroos says he is dreaming of making his comeback from injury in the DFB Pokal final against Stuttgart on June 1.

The Germany international has been out of action due to a hip injury ever since the 2-0 Champions League win at home over Juventus on April 2, but he’s hopeful of returning to match action this season.

“I want to be back as soon as possible. The healing process is going well. We’re making progress step-by-step,” Kroos told reporters.

“I’m dreaming of the cup final, but it would be ridiculous to assume anything.

“When you look at what we’ve invested in the competition, we really, really want to win the DFB Pokal.”

Bayern last won the German cup in 2010 when they beat Werder Bremen 4-0 in the final. They were beaten 5-2 by rivals Borussia Dortmund last season.
