Lewandowski: Hoffenheim defeat will not affect Dortmund ahead of Champions League final

The Poland striker has insisted that BVB’s recent performances will not mean anything when they take to the pitch on Saturday

Robert Lewandowski has stressed that Borussia Dortmund’s disappointing results in the past few weeks will not affect the team ahead of this week’s Champions League final against Bayern Munich.

BVB have not won any of their last four games, losing against Real Madrid and Hoffenheim, while drawing versus Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg, yet Lewandowski remains optimistic ahead of Saturday’s encounter.

“It’s no use talking about [the Hoffenheim] game. What matters now is the final and that’s what we’re concentrating on,” the Poland international was quoted as saying by the official Bundesliga website.

“Neither this game, nor the draw against Wolfsburg will be in our heads when we take to the pitch. What’s done is done.

“The final will be a totally different game, you can be sure of that.”

The Champions League final takes place at Wembley on Saturday.
