It’s an all-German affair at Wembley on Saturday and BetVictor will refund selected markets if either side goes behind but emerges victorious
Saturday’s Champions League final between Germany’s two top sides should confirm the widely-acknowledged power shift in European football.
Premier League teams fell by the wayside early on and even the footballing superpowers of Spain were comprehensively beaten in the semi-finals.
Bayern Munich secured their second appearance in as many years thanks to a 7-0 aggregate win over Barcelona and they are justifiably the favourites to win the game, priced at 3/4 (1.75) to win inside 90 minutes.
That short quote may surprise some given how impressive Borussia Dortmund have been in this competition, beating Real Madrid 4-3 on aggregate after topping a group that included the Spanish, English and Dutch champions.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are 16/5 (4.20) to get the better of their Bundesliga rivals but Bayern’s superior league form saw them wrestle back the domestic title with a record six weeks remaining and the Bavarians finished the campaign a staggering 25 points ahead of Dortmund in second place.
BetVictor will refund losing bets on the first and last goalscorer, scorecast and correct score markets if either side come from behind to win the game in 90 minutes.
Mario Mandzukic has 15 league goals to his name this season and leads the first goalscorer market at 17/4 (5.25). It’s Robert Lewandowski who has scored more than anyone else left in the competition though, and the Dortmund frontman is priced at 11/2 (6.50) to break the deadlock.
The Poland international, who looks set to depart this summer – possibly following Mario Gotze to the Allianz Arena – is 28/1 (29.0) with BetVictor to score a hat-trick that would see him claim the top scorer award for the tournament.
Games between the two sides have been relatively close in recent years. Aside from a 5-2 cup win for Dortmund in April 2012 no team has won by a one-goal margin and two of the last three meetings have finished 1-1.
That scoreline looks a well-priced 13/2 (7.50) shot with BetVictor and would ensure any punters getting involved would be eligible to claim a refund should any team come from behind to win the game.
