Watch Sir Alex Ferguson hand Robben Champions League man-of-the-match prize

The recently retired Manchester United manager’s “first job” since stepping down involves passing the award to Bayern Munich’s goalscoring hero after the game at Wembley

Recently retired Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was a surprise face at the press conference following Bayern Munich’s Champions League triumph.

The Red Devils icon arrived to hand winger Arjen Robben, who scored the winning goal in the 89th minute to down Borussia Dortmund, the man-of-the-match prize.

“It’s my first job since I retired,” quipped the Scot as he congratulated the former Chelsea and Real Madrid star.

Robben was happy to reciprocate the praise as he noted: “I think it’s such a shame a world-class trainer is leaving the job.”

The triumph at Wembley was the Dutchman’s first Champions League title, leaving him one behind Ferguson’s two.
