Robben: It's impossible to top this season

The Bayern Munich star has spoken about his personal goals after his team’s treble-winning campaign

Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben says it is “impossible” to improve on this season’s success.

Die Roten sealed the treble by beating Stuttgart 3-2 on Saturdayin the DFB Pokal final, having already wrapped up the Bundesliga and defeated fierce rivals Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League final at Wembley.

Robben scored the winning goal in that game having felt the disappointment of previous years, but he says they cannot top what they have achieved this campaign.

“Improving in terms of prizes is not possible,” the 29-year-old told De Telegraaf. “For myself, I hope to have a season without physical discomfort … including in the 2014 World Cup.”

The former Chelsea and Real Madrid man went on to discuss his country’s chances at the tournament; the third World Cup he will be involved in.

“I’ve been close with the Oranje and you only get such an opportunity once in a lifetime,” he continued.

“But I was awarded the Champions League at the third attempt. So who knows?.”
