Pep Guardiola’s first Bundesliga game in charge of Bayern Munich will be at home to Borussia Monchengladbach on August 9.

The former Barcelona boss’ arrival at the Allianz Arena was announced back in January and, following the DFL-Supercup clash with Borussia Dortmund on July 27 and a DFB-Pokal tie with Schwarz-Weiss Rehden a week late, he will finally take on the Fohlen

The first of the two Bundesliga clashes between Champions League finalists Dortmund and Bayern falls on the weekend of November 22-24 at Signal Iduna Park, while the return fixture will be played out mid-April.

Elsewhere on the first day of the new season, Robin Dutt will begin his tenure at the helm of Werder Bremen away to newly-promoted Braunschweig.

Hertha Berlin – the reigning 2. Bundesliga champions – mark their return to the top tier by hosting last term’s surprise packages Frankfurt.

And finally, the first leg of the Ruhr derby between Schalke and Dortmund has been scheduled for matchday 10, before bragging rights are ultimately settled 17 rounds later.
