The 29-year-old Dutch winger has been in the best form of his career in recent months, but he feels his game can go up another gear under the highly rated Spanish coach
Bayern Munich winger Arjen Robben believes he will become an even better player at Allianz Arena under the coaching of Pep Guardiola.
The 29-year-old has been in great form this year, including scoring the winning goal in the Champions League final, but he feels the Spaniard will help him improve further this season and beyond.
“It is an honour to be working with another great coach and I am definitely looking forward to this season,” Robben told UEFA.com.
“I can make a step forward under this coach, I can learn from him. Every coach has his own ideas, his own views on how he wants the team to play.
“Guardiola will make some small adjustments and we want to put more pressure on forward players to win the ball as quickly as possible.”
The Netherlands international also spoke about Friday’s Uefa Super Cup clash with Chelsea, saying he expects a tough encounter against both former coach Jose Mourinho and the Blues.
“Chelsea have had two wonderful years and now their former coach has returned,” he continued.
“I think very highly of Mourinho. It will be a great match.
“We’ve won the Champions League, so this is a new title we can win this year and one we have never won before.”
The game takes place on Friday, August 30 at the Eden Arena in Prague.
