Bundesliga Team of the Week: Mkhitaryan scores first Dortmund goals

Goal picks out the best players from around Germany as Jurgen Klopp’s men keep up their 100 per cent record and Stuttgart hit Hoffenheim for six

This week saw the first coaching change in the Bundesliga, with Bruno Labbadia relieved of his duties at Stuttgart and the swap paid instant dividends, with the Swabians claiming a 6-2 win over Hoffenheim in Thomas Schneider’s first game in charge and a number of his players make Goal’s Team of the Week.

In goal, we have Oliver Baumann, who made a stunning number of saves for Freiburg as they claimed a 1-1 draw against Bayern Munich.

The first of the Stuttgart contingent is Daniel Schwaab after his lively performance at the Mercedes Benz Arena. Alongside him in defence are Emir Spahic of Bayer Leverkusen and Wolfsburg’s Robin Knoche.

There are plenty of goals in the five-man midfield. Romanian starlet Alexandru Maxim grabbed two of Stuttgart’s six, Jefferson Farfan sealed victory for Schalke over B04 from the spot, Edgar Prib found the target for new club Hannover in their 4-1 win over Mainz, Henrikh Mkhitaryan netted twice in Dortmund’s 2-1 win over Frankfurt and Hakan Calhanoglu scored a double for Hamburg against Braunschweig.

The scorer of HSV’s other two goals was Maxi Beister. He lines up up front alongside the star of the weekend Vedad Ibisevic, who bagged a hat-trick in Stuttgart’s Hoffenheim demolition.
