Bundesliga Team of the Week: Bayern & Leverkusen dominate

Goals picks out the best performances from across Germany on a weekend which saw BVB slip 10 points behind the league leaders

Round 15 of the Bundesliga saw Borussia Dortmund effectively drop out of the title race, with their 1-0 loss to Bayern Leverkusen leaving the Werkself as Bayern Munich’s most likely challengers, so it is hardly surprising that Sami Hyypia and Pep Guardiola’s respective sides dominate Goal‘s Team of the Week.

However, the goalkeeping jersey goes to Ralf Fahrmann, who has staked a claim for a regular first-team spot for Schalke after filling in for Timo Hildebrand with aplomb.

Emre Can is the first B04 player to make the XI, and he is joined by Daniel Van Buyten, who helped Bayern Munich to a brilliant 7-0 victory at Werder Bremen. Nurnberg got a battling 1-1 draw against Mainz, with Per Nilsson netting their goal, while Matthias Ostrzolek was key in Augsburg’s 1-0 win over Hamburg.

Franck Ribery marked his Bundesliga return with two goals and two assists for Bayern, while Brazilian duo Raffael and Ronny helped secure wins for Borussia Monchengladbach and Hertha Berlin, respectively.

Heung Son-Min got the only goal for Leverkusen at Signal Iduna Park, meanwhile, and is the sole stirker.
