The Champions League group phase has drawn to a thrilling close, with a number of players having graced the six matchdays with some memorable displays.
Cristiano Ronaldo
became the first player to score nine goals in the group phase as Real Madrid soared through as group winners, while Zlatan Ibrahimovic finished one short of his tally following his stunning displays for Paris Saint-Germain.
Aaron Ramsey fired Arsenal into the competition with crucial goals against Fenerbahce in the qualifying round, and he continued his impressive standard of form as the Gunners survived the so-called ‘group of death’.
Arjen Robben, meanwhile, was in exceptional form for defending champions Bayern Munich as they picked up where they left off in May, while Mohamed Salah of Basel caught the eye of clubs across the continent with his lively displays and two winning goals against Chelsea.
