The defender has ended all speculation about his future by signing a one-year extension to his previous deal
Bayern Munich have announced on their official website that Dante has signed a new contract with the Bundesliga champions until the summer of 2017.
The Brazil international’s previous deal was due to expire in June 2016 and Manchester United were believed to be keeping a close eye on his situation at the Allianz Arena.
Nevertheless, he has now ended all speculation about his future by inking a one-year extension with Bayern.
“Joining Bayern was the best decision of my life,” the 30-year-old commented on his new deal.
“Everything is good here, the club, the team, the trophies, the atmosphere. Bayern are the right club for me. That’s why I am happy to stay here at least until 2017.
“I am confident that we will have plenty of success in the years to come.”
Dante joined Bayern from Borussia Monchengladbach in the summer of 2012 and has since developed into a key player at the Bavarians.
The centre-back has made 22 Bundesliga appearances so far this term, scoring twice in the process.
