BREAKING NEWS: Bayern wrap up Bundesliga title with win in Berlin

The unbeaten Bavarians, who have dropped just four points all season, have made history by winning the Germany championship with a staggering seven games to spare

Bayern Munich have wrapped up the Bundesliga title in record time thanks to Tuesday night’s 3-1 win at Hertha Berlin.

Goals from Toni Kroos, Mario Gotze and Franck Ribery saw the unbeaten Bavarians claim the championship with a history-making seven games to spare.

Bayern’s victory in the German capital saw them move to 77 points from 27 rounds of action, meaning they could also yet break their own record points haul of 91, which they set last year.

Of course, the Bavarians are also perfectly placed to pull off a second successive treble, as they are already through to the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal and will next month play Manchester United in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Bayern boss Pep Guardiola, who only succeeded Jupp Heynckes at the helm last summer, won La Liga, the Copa del Rey and the European Cup in his first season in charge of former club Barcelona, in 2009.
