I'm not leaving…yet – Muller

The Germany star says he his not about to depart the Allianz Arena but adds that he cannot guarantee that forever after being linked with Manchester United

Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller has moved to dismiss rumours that he could be set for a move to Manchester United.

The English champions have endured a disappointing season and are set to finish outside the Europa League places but are looking to rebuild ahead of next season.

However, Muller has moved to distance himself from the rumours but refused to rule out a move away from the Allianz Arena.

“I didn’t invent the rumours, so I can’t comment on them,” he told Bild.

“Let’s say this: I’m certainly not about to move but I can’t guarantee that forever.”

Muller went on to add that the 5-0 aggregate loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-finals had shocked his team-mates.

“Of course it hurts, but you have to be honest and say that Real Madrid were better than us over both legs. After all, we lost 5-0.

“But this criticism just goes to show our quality. Many people expected us to retain the treble.”

Looking ahead to the summer, Muller vowed that Germany will do their all to bring back their fourth World Cup title but is not expecting to be the tournament’s top scorer, as he was in 2010.

We’re certainly not going to Brazil for a holiday,” he continued.

“The Germany team are one of the favourites, like Brazil, Spain, Argentina and Italy. And Netherlands are like a secret favourite this year.

“I will do everything possible to win the Golden Boot again, even if it’s not realistic. You need a bit of luck for this.”
