The Bayern Munich boss has confirmed the winger could feature against Borussia Monchengladbach this week after recovering from back surgery
Franck Ribery could make his return from injury for Bayern Munich this weekend, Pep Guardiola has revealed.
The Frenchman missed the World Cup due to a back injury but, after training with the German champions this week, he could have some involvement against Borussia Monchengladbach on Saturday in the Telekom Cup.
“Ribery has trained well this week, I think he can play a couple of minutes in Hamburg,” said Guardiola in a press conference.
With pre-season well underway, Guardiola also rejected claims that the late return of Germany’s World Cup winners, including Philipp Lahm, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Manuel Neuer, could have a detrimental effect on the squad.
“We have to adjust ourselves to the current situation,” Guardiola added. “We will grow step by step.”
Bayern return to competitive action in the German Super Cup against Borussia Dortmund on August 13.
