The Spain international is ready to take the next step in his recovery from a knee problem after going under the knife
Bayern Munich have announced that Javi Martinez has returned to Germany after successfully undergoing surgery on his knee in the USA.
The Spain international suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the German Super Cup in Dortmund earlier this month and will consequently be sidelined for the remainder of 2014.
Nevertheless, he is now ready to take the next step in his recovery after his successful operation.
“Javi Martinez will today return to Germany from the USA. His surgery went well. #Getwellsoon #MiaSanMia,” a tweet from the club’s official account reads.

Martinez joined Bayern from Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 2012 and has won two Bundesliga titles, as many DFB Pokals, the Champions League and the Club World Cup with the Bavarians.
The holding midfielder’s injury prompted Bayern to add two more players to their squad last week, with Mehdi Benatia and Xabi Alonso leaving Roma and Real Madrid respectively for the Bundesliga champions.
