The Dutch winger missed three Bundesliga games before returning to action in Tuesday’s 4-0 win over Paderborn as Bayern went top of the league
Arjen Robben returned to Bayern Munich’s starting line-up in the 4-0 win over Paderborn on Tuesday and said his time out injured on the sidelines had been “annoying”.
The Netherlands international, who helped his country reach the semi-finals of this summer’s World Cup, had missed the three previous Bundesliga games with an ankle injury.
On Saturday, Bayern were held to a 0-0 draw at Hamburg in the 30-year-old’s absence but he returned to the team with an assist against Paderborn as the champions moved to the top of the Bundesliga.
“The time [out injured] was annoying,” he said.
“When it was 80, 85 minutes into the game, I thought: Oh, it’s already over, I could continue playing for another 20 minutes!”
Bundesliga champions Bayern face Koln on Saturday and then travel to CSKA Moscow for a Champions League group game on Tuesday.
