Lewandowski: Bayern will not underestimate CSKA Moscow

The striker has made it clear that the German champions will have to give their all if they are to get a positive result

Robert Lewandowski has stressed that Bayern Munich will not underestimate CSKA Moscow in Tuesday’s Champions League encounter at the Arena Khimki .

The Bundesliga champions started their Group E game with a 1-0 win over Manchester City, while CSKA were heavily beaten 5-1 by Roma on matchday 1.

Nevertheless, Lewandowski has insisted the Russian giants are a force to be reckoned with.

“We have a lot of respect for CSKA,” the Poland international said at a press conference.

“They are a great team, but we are only thinking about bagging the full three points.

“We have to give it our all. This is the Champions League and only the best teams play in this competition.”

Bayern last met CSKA in the Champions League last term, when they recorded a 3-1 away win and beat the Moscow side 3-0 in Munich.

Head coach Pep Guardiola will be without Holger Badstuber, Javi Martinez, Thiago Alcantara, Bastian Schweinsteiger and Franck Ribery due to injury.
