CSKA Moscow 0-1 Bayern Munich: Muller penalty proves enough for Bavarians

The versatile attacker slotted home a 22nd-minute penalty, after Mario Gotze had been felled in the area, as Pep Guardiola’s men made it six points from six in Group E

Thomas Muller netted a first-half penalty as Bayern Munich maintained their winning start to their Champions League campaign by triumphing 1-0 away to CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night.

The Germany international coolly converted from 12 yards out, after Mario Gotze had been felled in the area midway through the first half.

CSKA had their chances, even striking the bar at one point, but Bayern dominated both possession and territory throughout and squandered several opportunities to have won by a far greater margin.
