Guardiola: Bundesliga not boring

The ex-Barcelona coach has insisted that things aren’t too easy for Bayern and believes one of his players deserves the Ballon d’Or

Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola has dismissed claims that the Bundesliga is boring and too easy for the Bavarians.

The reigning champions finished 19 points clear of runners-up Borussia Dortmund last term and they already hold a seven-point lead over second-placed Wolfsburg this term.

Nevertheless, Guardiola has stressed that Bayern are always made to work hard to get a win.

“The Bundesliga is not boring,” Guardiola insisted at a press conference.

“We are a great team, but we always have to work hard to win our games. We have do a lot of running and invest a lot of energy in our games. Winning is never easy in the Bundesliga.

“We stil have room for improvement. There are still some things we should do better.”

The Bayern coach also briefly discussed the Fifa Ballon d’Or and stressed that a number of Bayern players deserve to scoop up the individual award.

“The Ballon d’Or is always a major talking point. Of course, several Bayern players deserve to win it.

“All the players who have made the shortlist are great, though. Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi are always there, too.

“But the entire world has seen what the German players did at the World Cup…”
