The experienced attacker expects the Dutchman to bag the individual trophy come the end of the season due to Bayern’s impressive strength going forward
Eintracht Frankfurt forward Alexander Meier has little doubt Bayern Munich attacker Arjen Robben will be this season’s Bundesliga top scorer.
The Netherlands international currently leads the goalscoring charts with 17 goals from 19 appearances, but Meier is trailing the winger by just one goal following his double against Hamburg at the weekend.
Nevertheless, Meier feels he has little chance against the Bayern attacker and fears he might have to settle for second place in the end.
“Can I win the Torjagerkanone? I think Robben will make it,” Meier told AZ.
“He scores one or two goals each game and Bayern score four or five goals all the time.
“It will be impossible to catch him again.”
Robben and Meier are not the only two candidates for the title of Bundesliga top scorer, though.
Wolfsburg striker Bas Dost has climbed to third place in the rankings following his impressive form since the restart of the German top flight, scoring 13 goals in 12 league outings so far this term, while Robert Lewandowski and Franco Di Santo can still dream of individual success as well on 11 goals each.
