The Germany international could miss Wednesday’s encounter due to an ankle problem, while goalkeeper Tom Starke will be sidelined for four weeks
Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola will possibly have to make do without the services of Bastian Schweinsteiger in Wednesday’s DFB Pokal clash with Bayer Leverkusen.
The Germany international picked up a knock in his side’s 1-0 Bundesliga win over Borussia Dortmund and was forced to leave the pitch around the hour mark as a result.
Schweinsteiger has since undergone further examination and although the injury is not as bad as Bayern initially feared, he will still have to sit out Monday’s training session and could miss the quarter-final encounter at the BayArena.

The 30-year-old was replaced by Sebastian Rode in Saturday’s victory against Dortmund and the former Eintracht Frankfurt man could fill in for Schweinsteiger again against Leverkusen.
Meanwhile, third-choice goalkeeper Tom Starke has been ruled out of action for four weeks after suffering a lateral collateral ligament tear in training on Sunday.
