The DFL has announced the fixture list for the 2015-16 campaign and some interesting encounters are on the cards in the opening weeks
Bayern Munich will open the 2015-16 Bundesliga campaign with a home game versus Hamburg on August 14.
The reigning champions recorded an impressive 8-0 win over HSV at the Allianz Arena last season, while they were held to a scoreless draw away from home.
Pep Guardiola’s men then travel to Hoffenheim on matchday 2, before hosting Bayer Leverkusen the following week.
Elsewhere, last season’s runners-up Wolfsburg host Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 1.
Dieter Hecking’s men will be hoping to improve on last season’s start, when they got just one win from their opening four matches.
Furthermore, Borussia Dortmund take on Borussia Monchengladbach at the Signal Iduna Park in their first Bundesliga match under new head coach Thomas Tuchel.
BVB beat Gladbach 1-0 at home in 2014-15 courtesy of a controversial Christoph Kramer own goal from around the halfway line.
Finally, the Bundesliga’s fourth Champions League representative Leverkusen face Hoffenheim in their league opener.
Bayer sprung a surprise on matchday 1 last term when they beat Dortmund 2-0 and will be hoping for a similar result this time around.
