Sporting director Klaus Allofs insists they are not in a position where they need the money from any significant bid for the Belgian star
Kevin De Bruyne is “99.9 per cent” certain to stay at Wolfsburg this summer, according to sporting director Klaus Allofs.
The Belgium international has been heavily linked with Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester City this summer, with the former Chelsea man himself admitting he is considering the prospect of leaving the club.
However, speaking prior to Wolfsburg’s DFL-Supercup clash against Pep Guardiola’s side, Allofs made it clear that the club are under no duress to accept a big-money bid for De Bruyne.
“We are not a club that needs income from transfers,” he told ZDF. “Still, we would deal with an offer out of respect for the player. But the probability of him staying is at 99.9 per cent.”
De Bruyne was in sensational form for Wolfsburg last season as they finished second in the Bundesliga and clinched the DFB-Pokal, with the 24-year-old notching 16 goals and 28 assists in all competitions.
