The Bianconeri boss has revealed that the 19-year-old pushed for a move to Bayern Munich and will now be allowed to depart
Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed that Kingsley Coman has asked to leave Juventus and is now poised to join Bayern Munich.
Coman started last weekend’s Serie A opener at home to Udinese but has been left out of the 21-strong squad for Sunday’s crunch clash with Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, with the 19-year-old set to complete a switch to the Allianz Arena before the close of the summer transfer window.
“Coman will be leaving the club,” Allegri told reporters on the eve of Juve’s trip to the Italian capital. “He wanted to go.
“I think it was the player’s desire to leave. I think it is a good transfer operation. He played a little last season and it’s only right that he moves on if he didn’t feel ready to fight for his place here.
“If he does well in future, it will also be thanks to Juventus.”
However, Allegri insisted Simone Zaza will not be following Coman out of Turin despite reported interest from West Ham.
Zaza only joined Juve from Sassuolo during the close-season and Allegri insists that the Italy striker has not been deemed surplus to requirements.
“Zaza will not be leaving the club,” the former AC Milan boss added. “He’s an important player, an international one at that, and needs to develop.”
