Premier League Trio Enter Race for Ajax Ace De Ligt After Making Contact With Defender’s Agent

?The Premier League trio of Manchester City, Arsenal and Manchester United have joined a long list of suitors in the race to sign Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt as contact has reportedly been made with his representatives.

The highly-rated 18-year-old has attracted interest from Europe’s elite after being tipped to become one of the leading central defenders in world football, with Barcelona and Bayern Munich joining the English clubs in making contact with the defender’s agent, Barry Hulshoff.

According to Spanish outlet ?Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona are leading the race to land the 18-year-old due to the club’s close relationship with Ajax, with the Spanish outfit understood to be eager to secure a deal for a summer move.

However, the report claims they are not alone in their interest and would therefore need to part with a substantial fee as De Ligt also remains under contract with Ajax until 2021.

The Netherlands international, tipped for stardom, will only part ways with Ajax if he is offered regular first-team football, something Barcelona may struggle with having Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti in the heart of their defence.

Similarly, both City and United have a host of centre-backs to choose from unlike Arsenal whose ageing back-line could be buoyed by the arrival of De Ligt.

Yet, with experience beyond his years clubs across Europe will undoubtedly do everything they can to land the 18-year-old, where deadwood could be shifted in a bid to ensure De Ligt is the backbone of a club’s defence for the foreseeable future.

Inter Set to Make Bayern Munich Superstar Their Top Summer Transfer Target

Serie A side Inter have made Bayern Munich star midfielder Arturo Vidal their number one transfer target for the summer, providing they qualify for the Champions League at the end of the season.

The San Siro outfit got off to a flying start this term, but a series of poor results have seen them drop out of the Champions League places to land in the fifth spot of the league standings.

They are, however, just one point behind fourth-placed Lazio and two adrift of third-placed AS Roma, while Napoli and Juventus continue to battle for the Scudetto at the top of the table.

Per Calciomercato, Inter have not given up hope of landing the Chilean, who has been playing for the Bundesliga giants since 2013 after making the switch from Juve. The report claims that they will make Vidal their chief summer target if they manage to qualify for Europe’s top competition at the end of the current campaign.

The Suning Group are hopeful of landing at least two big names in the summer as they plan for a potential first season in the Champions League since they took over as owners.

Bryan Cristante, a midfielder on loan from Benfica at Atalanta, is understood to have already been identified as a secondary option should the club’s move for Vidal fail.

Financial clout could become a problem for the Chinese company however, as the Chinese government is said to be cracking down on the way their companies invest on foreign soil by means of strict sanctions.

Spanish Report Claims Bayern Munich Have Joined Real Madrid in Race to Sign In-Form Liverpool Star

As Liverpool’s prolific forwards continue to light up the Premier League and the Champions League, they will no doubt be attracting attention from some of Europe’s biggest club.

?El Gol Digital are dubiously claiming that German champions Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Mohamed Salah. Bayern are in the market for some new wingers as the futures of some of their current stars remain uncertain.

?34-year-old Arjen Robben’s contract with Bayern runs out at the end of the season, and is reportedly undecided about his future. The Dutchman has been linked to moves to China and the MLS this term. Franck Ribery, also 34, is also under consideration about his future as questions have arisen over his age and his fitness.

So Salah, who has 30 goals in all competitions this season, may well be an ideal replacement on the wings for Bayern. But they would face a tough battle to try and snatch him from the Reds.

Salah only joined Liverpool from Roma last season and has immediately hit the ground running at his new club. Having contributed a total of 40 goals this term, the Egyptian has forged a formidable partnership with Roberto Firmino. Bayern would have to pay a mammoth sum for Liverpool to even consider selling their star player.

While the links to Salah from Bayern are questionable, the Bavarian club are indeed in the hunt for new wingers. In recent weeks Bayern have been linked with Borussia Dortmund wonderkid ?Christian Pulisic. Reports from Germany suggest that Pulisic could be brought in as a pair alongside Bayer Leverkusen starlet ?Leon Bailey.

Finally, RB Leipzig forward ?Timo Werner has also been attached to a more creditable link with Bayern. The Bavarians, who also have on their books James Rodriguez, Kingsley Coman, Douglas Costa and Thomas Muller are not short of options.

Loaned Out Star James Rodriguez Claims He Has ‘Only Good Memories’ of Real Madrid

?Bayern Munich loanee James Rodriguez has reminisced about his spell with Real Madrid, calling it a ‘unique time’ in his career.

The Colombian moved to Real Madrid for around £60m from AS Monaco after starring in the 2014 World Cup, but never really held down a starting spot at Los Blancos, and moved to Bayern Munich on loan in the summer of 2017.

He has shone since the move and is hoping to reignite his career in Germany. However, despite stalling in the Spanish capital, James only had positive things to say about his time with Real in an interview with UEFA,

Granada CF v Real Madrid CF - La Liga

”There are only good memories of my time in Madrid, it was three unique years in my career,” he said, as reported by Marca.

”It was a dream come true to play there, one which every child has when you watch those big teams. The dream seems so far away, but as the years go by everything appears much closer, my time with Real Madrid will always stay with me.”

Playing at one of the world’s top clubs brings all kinds of pressure and the Colombian held no shame in admitting it is not always an easy ride.

”At a club like Madrid there is a lot of pressure, you are always under the microscope. To play for Real you have to be prepared for everything, both mentally and on the pitch,” he continued.

”It’s a club that helped me grow in every single aspect, both inside and out.”

James – who has scored four and assisted six in the Bundesliga this season – was substituted in Bayern’s ?5-0 thumping of Besiktas on Tuesday due to a calf problem. He will be hoping the injury does not leave him sidelined for too long and he can continue his impressive stint in Germany.

Ex-Bayern Munich Sporting Director Admits ‘Very Bad’ Decision to Sanction Toni Kroos Sale

Bayern Munich’s former Sporting Director, Matthias Sammer, has admitted that it was a mistake for the German side to sell Toni Kross to Real Madrid in 2014.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund midfielder – who was the last German player to win the Ballon d’Or – also claimed that decision to swap Bavaria for Madrid has worked out well for the 28-year-old midfielder.

Sometimes there are situations that you have to analyse honestly in retrospect,” Sammer told German publication Sport Bild – who, for this week, have Kroos as a guest editor.

“Who can say they have done everything right in life? Maybe Bayern Munich would have won the Champions League more often with Toni or at least reached the final.

“I can say today that, in my role, it was a mistake to let Toni go. I was sitting on Toni’s couch trying to change his mind.

“I’ve been able to work with him for a long time and have known him since he was 16 or 17.

“His departure didn’t shake Bayern, but when you talk about whether it was good or bad to let Toni go, you have to say it was bad, very bad,” he added. “But for Toni’s personal development and value, the change was definitely the right one.”

Despite spending the last four years at the Santiago Bernabéu, Kroos has still made more career appearances for Bayern Munich than Real Madrid, with his tally of 11 winners medals across a number of competitions for the Bavarians also higher than the 10 titles that the coveted midfielder has won with Los Blancos.
